Epic Question

Ok, so lets use the example of a 20th level Barbarian that becomes a 1st level Fighter at 21st character level. Does the character get :
One Feat[epic or normal] for being 21st level.
One feat[epic or normal fighter feat] for being a first level fighter.
????

Ok lets make this clear. you're saying that the fighter feat could only be normal and not epic? I could swear I read differntly in the book.

The book contradicts itself, iirc. Andy Collins has said that in this case it would be one epic, one from the fighter feat list. YMMV

Ok so reread what you just said.Maybe it's just me, but it's unclear to me. My question is, Can a 1st level class fighter take a epic feat at 21st character level?

No. The Bonus feat for 1st level Fighter must come from the Fighter Bonus Feat list, the NON-Epic Fighter Bonus Feat list.

In order to pick from the Epic Fighter Feat list, you need to be an Epic Fighter (ie, have 21+ levels in Fighter.)

Edit: I guess I should mention that since 21st is a level divisable by 3, a 21st level person gets a Character feat at that level. As they ARE an Epic Character, they can pick Epic feats with their Character feats.

Caliber is correct.

You could choose 1 epic feat, and only 1 feat from the fighter bonus list in the PHB for becoming a 1st level fighter.

So yes or no do I have this right?

As a 21st level character you get the epic/regular feat

as a 1st level class fighter you get only regular feat.

So that's two feats at 21st level. One epic/regular and one regular. Right?
