Thia casts silence (at junction 9-10/N-O). "I cast Silence. Do something to the guard from here", she says to Finnan, and then rushes to N9 with her dagger out so the guard cannot rush past her.

If the guard provokes an opportunity attack, I will use it to knock him prone with a shove. I will probably use inspiration to do that with advantage.
If he just attacks and I live and maintain concentration. My plan is to steal the keys (with inspiration) and toss them into the cell. But hopefully it won't come to that and Finnan will eldritch blast him sufficiently. I hope others will squeeze out of the cell in the mean time.
Why not? Thia cast True Strike (S spell) and now Silence (V,S) with manacles on. I've discuss casting silence in the OOC thread for while now and DM never said I would need the manacles off first. Thia would have snuck back inside if spell casting was still restricted.

The manacles allow a limited range of movement, so you can perform chores. They really hurt when it comes to things like climbing, combat,

It is odd how you see yourself moving and know there should be the sound of bare feet on stone, but there is nothing. Watching Thia cover the ground quickly the drow has no time to warn anyone before the deafening sound of silence fills the area,
Fooling with his manacles Finnan, is a bit slower, but finnaly he manages to get his hands how he wants them. He then stands using the stairs to give him a bit of cover.
