Essentials staff fighting slayer?

I'm currently working on a halfling staff slayer in the CB.

How does this work? I thought small characters couldn't use 2 handed weapons - which would include staves. Or is there some rule I'm missing?

Stout-Handed Staff

There you go. And p.s., small characters not being able to use appropriately sized polearms is a bug, not a feature, and should be fixed.

Whole towns of halflings living in a points of light world, and they would only use weapons manufactured for medium sized characters? There are no smart halfling blacksmiths? Feh!

Halfling do make their own polearms. They're just called battleaxes by everyone else.

I haven't got the online builder to recognize staff fighting's benefits.

This came up in another thread a couple months ago - guess it hasn't been fixed yet. I think the workaround was to buy two of them and equip one in each hand... can't remember. Try that though, it might work.
