[eTools] Hey Eric Noah, question for you...

Since you have such good ties to Fluid, do you know of an official bug list that Fluid knows about?

I found another bug and I was hoping you could pass it on.
Thanks to someone over at the MSN group asking a question about skill points I discovered the following -

When you advance a monster, any monster, it does not do the skill points correctly.

My Example, a Dryad. A Fey Creature. When a fey creature advances, it is supposed to gain +2 skill per extra HD.
I loaded new monster generator and selected Dryad.
She had 44 skill points to assign, um OK, great!
I advance her 1 HD, all of a sudden, she has only 4 skill points.
Hmmm, math tells me that then 44+2=4. (or is it 44+2=46) If you assign the 44 skill points and then advance the dryad, you get -40.

I advanced a dire rat. He went from 0 skill points to 1. (I advanced him 4 hd, so that should have been like additional 48 skill points).

I haven't tried any of the other monster types, but I figure I would ask you, does Fluid know about this problem?

I don't have access to a list, no -- if I spot a bug and I didn't personally mention it to them or don't recall it being brought up on the boards before they went kablooie, then I just drop them a line. This particular bug I'm pretty sure I mentioned early on.

I found a problem with incorperal creatures.

If you make the strength a non-ability it screws up the ability modifier to AC and Movement rates. Load up shadow.mon to see.

Can anyone else confirm, or is it just me?

Is this a known bug?

That's because you didn't spend the skill points. When you add a hit die, you level. When you level, you have to spend your skill points. If you don't, you lose them. You can't cue up skill points and then spend them later. The same thing happens in PnP, so technically, it isn't a bug, although it is most definately irritating.

KReynolds - reread.....

I did spend the skill points. All 44 of them.

Then I leveled up. I had a negative skill points, saying I have overspent by 40.

Do the math. nonleveled 44 skill points.
leveled 4 skill points.

44 - 40 = 4 skill points (the amount from being leveled.)

I don't know how to make it any more clear to you. It is a bug.

:D

From the context of your message, I couldn't tell if you actually spent them or not. My bad.

That was sufficient. Although, next time, perhaps a bit fat NEON sign might get my attention better? ;)

Then I guess I just reported one more. :) I whipped up a quick Ogre a few days ago and forgot the spend the skill points. When I leveled him, the unspent skill points were unavailable. I can't repeat this every time though. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. I'm just gonna try reinstalling e-tools before I delve any deeper into it.

Tell me if this one is a bug:

I was imputing the Atomie, a tiny fey into eTools. In the .rac file I gave them proficiencies for dagger and light crossbow. While creating the .mon file it grays out the Weapon Finesse feat as not being available (it should be, the Atomie qualifies for the feat). So, clicking on "ignore requirements" and taking the feat the program does not recognize the Atomie as being able to use a Dagger or Light Crossbow. In other words, it's ignoring their racial proficiency with the weapons for some reason.

Is it me or the program? One thought that occured to me (after I got to work) was that I have to make them proficient with tiny daggers and crossbows. But I haven't been able to test that one out yet.
