Even Newer(er) Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

Ironheart stands up straighter and rattles his leafy crown in excitement. "Other talking trees? Where? Were they together in a grove?"

He is distracted by the entrance of the newcomer. He turns to her and rocks slightly forward, almost in a bow. "I see you garbed in the vines of nature, my lady. It is good to see such pleasant drapings in this place. However little of them there may be." He turns back to the kobold and waits expectantly, quivering slightly.

"In a grove--" echoes Papolstaanas, not understanding immediately. "Oh! I see. You're looking for others, like you? I-I don't think that trees I saw were anything like.... And really, Bacarte is the last place I would expect to find.... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, to get your hopes up. They weren't talking trees. It was"--he lowers his voice somewhat, so that Ironheart has to lean down in order to hear him--"It was just a problem I was having at the time, I mean I felt I had nobody to talk to I guess, so I used to talk to, you know, trees and the wind and rocks and animals and things, but it's not really important why I did it. The point is I sometimes thought they were speaking to me, but really they probably weren't."

"Lilli, pray do introduce me to your... ahem, friend," he smiles.

Not waiting for the introduction, Artemis makes a deep bow, "Artemis Harks, soldier of fortune, at your service."
"Oh, hello Artemis!" Eva says cheerfully. "It's nice to meet you. Everyone is so nice in this stone-city. The men at the docks even sang for me - well, whistled anyway. And the drunks in that last tavern tried really hard to help me with a problem I had."

Lilli waves back. "Hello Eva, been busy? I certainly have since we got back here.
"Sort of. I was following up on that cipher we found with the orcs, and I found someone to help, but it looks like he lost me on the way here. Maybe he'll show up later."

Eva looks down at her own clothing. "These old things? They're a little too traditional, I think. But it's important to have a free range of motion when casting spells." Ironheart notices that Eva does have a spellbook at her side, in addition to the staff she holds.

"This is a newcomer to Daunton, a traveller from the Far Lands of The Kingdom of Jade, no less. Perhaps, you would honour us with a name, good Sir?"

The Genasi clears his throat and slides off of his bar stool, giving the small assembly a brief but polite bow.

"A pleasure to make you acquaintance," he begins. "I am Ngo Xuan, a traveler from the Kingdom of Jade, as Madame Lilli indicated."

Lerrick sits and watches the interactions between adventurers, especially the interactions of the large talking tree, as she twirls a piece of her hair. Wow...never seen that before she states out loud to everyone around her.

ooc: lvl 6 half-elf (walking hospital) cleric at your service :)

A man in robes enters the tavern, looking in all directions, surveying the patrons. He's been here many times before. The bartender gives him a friendly nod because he know that when the cleric comes he's usually looking for help. This pleases the bartender because he knows that the reason people come here is to find work. Spending some coin between jobs is exactly what he wants. The cleric nods back to the bartender, then walks towards him.

The usual Brother Navio?

Yes please...and can I use the back room to talk bussines?

Sure my friend. My house is your house.

Can you round up round up a group for me.

Anytime my friend.

The cleric takes his glass of water and moves to the back room. As he does so, the bartender throws his rag to an servant He watch the place while I talk to some people.

The bartender moves around the establishment looking for new faces, not well known, as he in under instructions to keep a low profile, choosing people who have not made a name for themselves. Why? Well, that's not the barktender's business to know. Slowly, he walks around the tavern interacting with the partons, looking for recruits.

Eloan - Eladrin Warlord lvl 7

The door open and an Eladrin enter. He wears a richly decorated armor, a large shield on his back, wears a full face helmet and have his longsword at his belt. He sits down at the bar and remove his helmet. It is odd to see the slim face out of this heavy outfit. The elf doesn't seem at ease under the weight of his heavy armor.

"I can't believe it! A mug of ale, please. Oh, yeah. I'm Eloan, former member of the watch, former member of House Greenleaf of Daunton." His last words seems full of despise.

"Ooooh, ooooh! Eloan! Look! Look what me found!" Kruor exclaimed. "Me found all this in a back alley." He lifts his arms up to show Eloan his new attire.

Kruor appears to be wearing a very shabby tuxedo. It has many tears at the pants and seems to have been abandoned by it's previous owner, perhaps after being attacked by a feral animal of some sort. The two rips by the shoulder appear quite new, however. Most likely formed when the clumsy bloodsucking robot put it on.

He also dons a crumpled top hat on his head. A cracked monocle covers one of his glowing eyes, which are now his "happy blue" color. Kruor even has a crooked walking stick in his hand.

"See what Diane taught me! She say it attract customers."

Kruor then launched into a very comical tapdance, which obviously took much practice, as the usual bumbling Kruor would not be able to move with such precision.

"They say me get free blood and lodging if me perform. Kruor now good friends with Diane too. Hurr hurr hurr" he rumbled. "How you doing?"
