Even Newer(er) Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

"I apologize for interrupting girls talk, but I don't often get the chance to talk to others of my kind." interjects richly dressed deva with alabaster skin and indigo markings approaching and giving slight bow. By the dress and his name, he might be another priest.

"My name is Cyr Escunar, Voice of Joven, servant of Knowledge. I've heard of this dragon several times now. Do you know anything more about him?"

"I am called Dina, but I am afraid I have never encountered this particular dragon. While I could tell you some general traits shared by dragon kind, I find their personalities and motivations as varied as humans... though perhaps not quite as fickle. But, since you asked..."

Dina retrieves a device from a pouch at her belt. It is made of bronze and stamped with the symbol of Mireva. She taps on the device three times and it immediately grows to twice it's size, sprouting multiple protrusions of varied utility. Framed by golden wands, pictures of various types of dragons are displayed in three-dimensional holograms. Dina begins a lengthy and scholarly dissertation about all she knows regarding dragons, not quitting until interrupted or until she has exhausted her knowledge several hours from now.

I was chosen because of the mark on my forehead. The cleric moves her hair so that Lilli could see it more clearly. The group I speak of rescued me just as the black dragon came to take me. Now the mark on my forehead is the source of my power to heal. It is strange how things work out. The cleric smiles at Lilli, then pulls out her dagger. Say...I heard that you have the power to enchant this. Would you be willing to do so. I will pay whatever is the going rate to do so.

"Oh, is it an auspicious birth sign?"

Lilli is slightly surprised when the dagger suddenly appears under her nose, but she recovers quickly and smiles at herself.

"Yes, I can and gladly will for you! At least if it is something within my power to do so. Lotte and I have built some of my own equipment. If I can't do it, I can probably point you to someone who can."

Lilli's eyes sparkle with interest as she eyes Dina's information device; she starts listening to Dina's discourse and part of her mind starts memorising the information she imparts for Lilli's later use.

All I know from what I head from Brother Navio is that the dragon, in addition to his own power, also possesses a relic of great power...something that protects it form magic and melee weapons. However, The group that now confronts the beast has an artifact that negates the power of the relic. The great paladin Skalisss has the artifact, a shield, equipped. The cleric then smiles before speaking again. In addition to Skalisss, the dragon faces Quan, then mighty hunter, Vimak, one who specializes in runes, Rocco, one of the toughest fighters I've ever seen and Nementah, one who possesses the power of nature. It was Nementah who helped me come to grips with my own powers. She pauses again before speaking. No...I'm not worried. That dragon, as big as it is, will not be able to defend itself against the that group...I'm certain of it.

Vermitrax occasionally looks up from his shady table at the loud group speaking of deeds of others. He mutters something inaudible.

On the other side of the Tavern, Sheng Zim still flips page through page of the big tome that was entrusted to him, muttering under his breath and brooming his long beard.

Ever present is Earth, the stalwart defender of Balance, rests unmoving, the sun filtering through the window over the plants growing on his rocky surface.

My three characters ranging from level 8 to 12 are in the tavern.
