Ever feel like you have too many options?

Lately I have been wanting to run a game either F2F or by PBP and I have found that there are so many systems I want to try out. I feel like I have too many options. Of course, I am grateful for this, but I still find it maddening.:D

I guess my point is, now a days, everyone can find something that is to their liking. The Old School Retroclones can keep the Old Schoolers happy. And the new systems, like 4e can keep the new blood(and Old Blood people who like it too!) happy. The sheer amount of Gaming goods available to people is amazing!:D

Thanks to the Character Builder, I usually don't feel like I have too many options for 4e. I think I'd feel flooded without it, though.

I am, however, swimming adrift in a sea of talents in SWSE.

With all the "indie" (small press) games that are gaining ground, there's definitely a lot of stuff out there, nearly something for everyone.

For me, it simply forced me to choose some number of systems that is less than or equal to a handful, and stick with those. That stinks for all the other systems (they aren't getting my money), but it keeps my wallet happy, and expands my creativity (I can still read ABOUT those other games, and work stuff I like from them into what I own).

My D&D world looks like a veritable who's who of whacky fantasy settings, including Warhammer, Cadwallon/Confrontation (Rackham), Earthdawn, Sundered Skies, some random steampunk, Dark Sun, Scarred Lands, and a whole lot more. My nWoD setting is likely to be a mashup of several TV shows (X-Files, Millenium, CSI), movies (Push), and games (Call of Cthulhu, Mutant City Blues, Shadowrun).

Sometimes constraints actually allow you to push the envelope in different ways.
