Till is correct. This Prelude deals with the embrace of each of the characters on Halloween night so, when we begin, you will still be mortal...however briefly. Mwahahahaha!

Ahem...sorry.

Step Three: Nature and Demeanor

Your personality has two main facets. Your Nature is your true self, the drives, ambitions, secrets and desires that truly motivate you. Your Demeanor is the face you present to the world, the mask you wear to protect yourself.

These personality traits are presented as single archetypes that offer a broad summary of your personality. Choose one for your Nature and one for your Demeanor (understanding that everyone is, of course, nuanced and complex, and so you are not bound in chains to the personality archetypes you choose - they are merely guidelines and frameworks for roleplaying).

Step Four: Attributes

So, now we get in to the actual numbers that make up your characters. With a couple of major exceptions which we'll get in to later, everything in this system is rated 1 to 5. 1 is the lowest end of the scale, 5 is the highest.

Attributes are like ability scores in other games. All Attributes start at a rating of 1. A 1 here indicates below human average, possibly even mildly disabled in some way.

There are three categories of attributes.

Physical
Mental
Social

First, prioritize the three categories into primary, secondary, and tertiary.

Under each category there are three attributes.

Physical
-Strength
-Dexterity
-Stamina

Mental
-Perception
-Intelligence
-Wits

Social
-Charisma
-Manipulation
-Appearance

Once you've prioritized the categories, you have 7 points to distribute among the attributes in your primary category, 5 in the secondary category, and 3 in the tertiary.

Toreador usually (but not always) embrace those with high social attributes. Some Toreador will go against the norm and embrace someone of great physical prowess, or, someone who puts a genius intellect to work in artistic pursuits.

First Post
I'm looking at Blush of Health, Iron Will, Driving Goal (to cure vampirism), Bad Sight (wears glasses), and Soft Hearted. Because doctor.

Also, what are the rules for non-clan disciplines? Can I buy a dot in Auspex with freebies even though I'm Ventrue?

Those all look good, especially the Driving Goal.

As for non-clan disciplines and freebie points, yes, though I am limiting the discipline availability to Camarilla clan disciplines (so, no Obtenebration, Quietus, Necromancy, etc.) So, Auspex is fine.
