He turns back to the group and speaks lightly; almost whispering.
"Let's wait a minute to see what the noise of the fight brings out of the darkness. If is seems calm, I say half of us search, the other watch out for more attacks."
Payne nods at Lokin's suggestion but is all ready moving towards random chest number two, and has dropped into a crouch. Running her fingers over it as she searches. She could start on this while they all be quiet, right? The rogue liked to pride herself on being silent.
Zurd begins to scan the room completely with his "Magic Detector" spell. He will pause at each location to make sure his search areas for the spell overlap and he does not miss anything. If he detects anything he will non-nonchalantly walk over to the area and see what it looks like. If the item is in a container he will call Payne. (secretly hoping that she will take a little bit of a bite from any traps so he can react to her wounds in a helpful way)
If the item detects magical but seems to look innocuous he might not say anything to the group about it. He might just wait till the search is over to look over the "mundane" item for more information before he reveals his find to the party. Reason being - he wants to impress Payne and the others as well with his prowess as a spell caster.
This spell might help us find some items that are powerful magics. I fear that my skills are not honed and may get false readings on some things so bear with me.
Sorry for the delay -- I had notes about treasure on my own computer, which I was away from. I now am reunited with it, but will have to figure out more details about where everything is. I expect that within 24 hours I'll be able to tell you where Zurd detects magic.
Naughty inappropriate comment comes to mind, but Payne bites her tongue and with a flick of her wrist.. those magical tools are on hand. C'mon baby, open for Mama. Grunting and grumbling, quietly, as she works her magic.
