Fair trade thread 2?

Hi again.

Here's another option:

Rogue mod
- Remove all combat abilities.
- Remove Saving throws.
- Remove Sneak Attack
- Add 4 sp / level for a total of 12 sp / level
- Add Knowledge as class skill (take individual as bard and wizard)

Opinions?

Ok, correct me if I have this wrong.

BAB= +0 /level
Saves = +0/level

Skills: As Rogue, + Knowledge (any), and 12 SP/level

Rogue Special Abilities: No sneak attack, No rogue SA except Skill Mastery, Improved Evasion?, Slippery Mind, and extra feat.

It looks like it could be a fun character to play, but if the party ever does anything involving combat you'll be worse than useless.

I actually think that's a little underpowered. Removing combat abilities and sneak attack is severely going to limit the rogues combat (and it's a combat based XP system).

Nice :)

But I HAD to remove a lots of things as I will only use this on level 1, then go Wizard all the way (thread 1).

Is it still unbalanced?

Of course it is.

Any class that you are specifically designing to take only for 1 level is inherently unbalanced.

If you are designing a class fromt the ground up, then it should perfectly fit your character concept, and you shouldn't need any multiclassing.

Doing it this way just makes you a shameless muchkin powergamer. I'll probably post later, when I can think of more bad words to call you for doing this.

I would have to say yes, it is unbalance, because you are specifically just trying to get a bunch of skill points. Now, a class like this that a PC was going to stick with, I'd have less of a problem with.

But then I frown at people taking the one level of Ranger just for the bonus feats or taking the basic rogue class just for the skill points (especially at level 1). I don't feel it's in the spirit of the classes and it takes advantage of the rules to much.
