Cribbage, Hearts occasionally if there is enough people. These card games are espicially handy when I am out treeplanting in the summer.

I just recently bought Kill Dr. Lucky. I hope to give that a try soon. I think it would be a fun game to play while waiting for the rest of the gaming group to show up.

Advanced Civ is the best pizza and beer game ever. I can't believe that madriel was the only one to mention it. And 12 hours? Sure it's long but we never take more than half that...

Oh, and I heard Starfarers was dreadful (at least compared to Cities and Knights).

Well, it takes us up to twelve hours because several of the guys hate to lose so much that they agonize over every turn. That's also when we have the maximum number of players. The meal breaks take a long time too because we're all catching up on that boring thing called real life.

I enjoy both Cities & Knights and Starfarers, so just try them for yourself.

Once Upon a Time is one of my all-time favorites. I've also had "lite" gaming fun with Quests of the Round Table, Honor of the Samurai, and Cranium. I love the clay-sculpting challenges in Cranium.
Once upon a time can be great fun. It's even more fun when you've been awake -far- too long and manage to play it using an Uno deck:)

They have all been mentioned before...

Axis and Allies (original or with expansion sets)
GW's Talisman
Risk
Shogun

BTW, I have never heard of Carcassone (well, I know about the city, not the game). What is it and how is it played?

It's a "city builder" game where you build small (and somewhat larger) cities, roads and monastries from random tiles. Points are scored both during the game and at the end.

A pretty good game, good balance between short-term and long-term strategies, and no sure-win strategy (at least we have found none). I think it is from one of the german publishers, but I'm not sure.

Circus Maximus
Nuclear War
Zombie!!!
Settlers of Katan (which for some reason I can't stand)
Talisman
Wizard
Rook

Alot of them depend on how many people show up that night as to which game we play.

I can't believe I forgot Lunch Money. Now that game is cool, at least the trash talking rocks
