Favorite Mini Maker????

Reaper, no question.

I think some of the Celtos and Confrontation minis look great, but I don't like ordering minis sight unseen, and they are pretty expensive. Some of the Aegyptus minis look nice too.

I'm thinking of grafting angel wings onto my Monique Denoir mini, to represent an NPC of mine. :)

I am looking for some advice. After examining my Reaper Blorg the Hill Giant mini I noticed that he is split along the seam. This split starts at the top of his and goes all the way to the neck on the left side and to the ear on the right side. I did not notice this until I had opened the package. I was wondering if anyone knew of something that I could fill the split with? The rest of the mini seems solid and I am not worried about the split growing. Thanks in advance for the help.

Most of the minis I have bought recently have been Reaper. The variety is amazing and the sculpts are usually very good. I dont think that the detail work is as fine as a good GW fig, but still, how can you pass up a two-pack of Bugbears or Gnolls for $8? The extra-flexy metal they are made of is a concern for heavy tabletop usage, though bent swords/staffs seem to bend right back.

I finished the Chainmail Owlbear and am working on the Otyugh. I was a bit disappointed in these figs; both required a fair amount of putty work to clean up around the attached arms -- definitely if you dont have sculpting tools and putty I would steer clear of the Owlbear. (Feel free to just slap putty on the Otyugh though since he's just a big lump with tentacles anyway. :-) But the detail is fine and the figures have a lot of character, which is why I bought them in the first place.

I've built tons of GW Orcs and Goblins, a box of plastic, customizable monsters is a great deal. Everyone should have a box of the new Zombies, even if its just to use for festering body parts strewn on the bases of other models. Probably the best figure I have is an old GW Ogre waving a morningstar. Tons of detail and character.

Reaper has the best human(oid) figures, hands down. Their monsterfigures are IMHO more uneven, with some very good (e.g. the fire elemental) and some pretty bad (I was especially unimpressed by their medium dragons).

GW is much more "cartoonish", with exaggerated stances and expressions. I still like a few of them, especially the trolls and the orcs.

A lot of my friends likes the LoR line, but it didn't do anything special for me.

Reaper is hard to beat for the sheer volume of product they have on the market as far as generic fantasy goes. I love GW orcs because they are cartoony. They remind me of my "Hobbit" book on cassette I had as a kid. It was the one from that animated Hobbit movie. The Orcs bring back my childhood. I'd like to see some of these other mini companies people keep talking about. Anyone willing to post links?

I like almost any mini I can afford: and I have 100’s of minis. It would be hard for me to decide on my actual favorite sculptor .

I really appreciate Reaper miniature’s sculpting: almost always one piece and always highly detailed. My only qualms with them are that they were very light on monsters until last year & their small price hike is annoying though they still are fairly priced compared to the rest of the mini market

Now I also enjoy some of the offerings from Grim Reaper Castings Their Nasteez line has some Decent monsters for good prices. Though putty can be needed for some of their offerings. They are pretty good when you need monsters. http://www.grimreapercasting.com/ to see their color catalog Go to draggles town’s grim reaper minis sections to see them unpainted

I'm a Reaper fan, myself. Among the several reasons already mentioned, the goddess works there. She who must be revered: Sandra Garrity. Here's why.

All kidding aside, I like the detail (though that makes 'em tougher to paint) and the price. I do buy minis from other lines, but most (over 80%?) of mine are Reaper.

The only bad thing about Reaper: their web site is pretty horrible. Of course, that means they spend resources on the minis, which is good. But to look at their line, I go to Discount Hobby (which also does business under the name Dragglestown). I've odered several times from Discount Hobby / Dragglestown, with fast service and excellent communication each time.

I was going to try HeroClix this weekend, but my friend was more into giving Mage Knight a try. I'm impressed. I'm also someone who doesn't have time or patience to assemble and paint minis (that black dragon is still not done).

I like Reaper, but I'm a Ral Partha guy from way back. The new WotC minis are hit and miss, but the hits are quite good.

It seems Reaper is the big winner right now in the market. For those of you with bad online mini orders, DO NOT ORDER FROM THE MANUFACTURER.

Just ordered from them, Great customer service, had my stuff 3 business days after I ordered
Pay full retail, no shipping fees on Confrontation mini's which can be better than a discount if only buying one or two.

Sent in my first order and should have my mini's on Tuesday
Offer discounted prices on most merchandise

I'd advise against ordering from New Wave.

They charge you the whole price up front and send your orders peicemeal.

Some people spend 6 or 7 months waiting to get all their stuff.

They are pretty bad at answering emails and telephone calls too.
