Plus halflings allow for the most abrasive personalities without tipping your hand off in character creation like when you show up with a gnome. Plus it's really cool to beg off carrying your own gear all the time and ask with wide eyes if the big strong wizard would mind carting your extra cutters and pokers around. It's like a licence to be an evil 8 year old. Muahahahahaha.

Human > Non-Human, Non-Elf > Elf.

Not an easy choice between holf-orcs and dwarves, but had to go with dwarves. I've only had a handful of 3.0 and 3.5 characters so far, but the best two have been dwarves (or in the case of my current character - is a dwarf).

Aasimars, especially from a roleplaying perspective. right there you got ready made plot-hooks. just add homicidal celestial relatives and you're good to go.

At the time I'm posting this, elves are coming in dead last in the popularity contest. Which surprises me, considering how many D&D suppliments contain elf-related subraces and prestige classes.

Hopefully someone at Wizards of the Coast will see this poll and tell their bosses that people want to see more material devoted to non-elven races.
