what makes them seem such a go choice to you anyway?

I know right? There are tons of online recipes for different "tortle builds." However, I've never seen one actually played, so it might all be just internet theory-craft.

And that's okay! There are lots of ways to play this game, and quietly rolling up a new character for an hour or so is better than playing Solitaire or Angry Birds...

I know there are theories about how that AC makes them über for some builds, but the Tortles I whip up for fun are all about concept and story not optimizing. And I wholeheartedly support optimization.

They just look cool. That said, their special abilities are all pretty meh.
