Feat bonuses stack?

This information will be really helpful the next time I'm gaming with a bunch of Roman legionnaires. In the meantime, I expect that the modern English "bonuses", the form that WotC uses in all rule books, will suffice.

Now, has anyone seen my VI-sided dice?

Heh.

I could also have written, that it is generally considered rather rude to flame non-native english speakers for their incomplete perfection in the language.

But I thought people would figure that one out for themselves. ;)

The extreme unstackablility of feats has really bummed me out.

Its kinda lame that Plate Armor specialization and Shield specialization don't combine to do anything for you, even at the expense of a feat. Plus you try to wedge in Lighting Reflexes, and you are only getting half the bang for your buck.

Better to have made all the armor bonuses have nothing to do with raising AC and just making a flat +2 to your AC feat to go along the other three.

Now you're confused. Even though feat bonuses doesn't stack, those two feats give their bonuses to different things.

Namely armor and shields.

And the armor bonus to AC and the shield bonus to AC do stack.

So, you could say that feat bonuses to armor and feat bonuses to shields stack.
(They don't, but the end result is that both are added in to your AC, which is what you want).

PS. You're right about Lightning Reflexes and shields though. They both add their feat bonus to the exact same thing (Ref defense) which indeed does not stack.

His location is Australia, though.

But whatever: both boni and bonuses are currently considered acceptable, though it's likely boni will go away within 20 years.

PS: Named bonuses overlap (do not stack) with boni of the same name.

You are thinking in 3.5 terms. The feats don't work that way in 4e.

In 4e each of those feats grants you a feat bonus to AC (while wearing the armor or using a shield), not a feat bonus the AC of the armor or shield.

They don't stack.

Because balance in 4E depends on pretending that scales act mostly linear within the scope of the game, it is necessary to minimize the stacking of bonuses. I think in some cases, they may have gone too far. I think a few of the feat bonuses might be better re-typed, or untyped, with perhaps a little rewriting. For example, the racial weapon training feats should probably be +1 racial bonus to damage instead of +2 feat bonus, so they stack with Weapon Focus and scale with tier.

Given that stacking attack bonuses has much greater impact than stacking damage bonuses, it's surprising that Blade Opportunist, Combat Reflexes, and Nimble Blade, are all untyped, and so do stack. Indeed, almost every attack bonus in the PHB feats is untyped, whereas all the damage bonuses are feat bonuses. It should be more like the opposite.
