[Feat] Danger Sense: What do you think?

Ummm...you are aware that with a base Wisdom of 15, and a Wisdom check DC, you couldn't possibly fail the check, ever. Either leave the wisdom check out or raise the DC, otherwise it doesn't serve any purpose. Remember, you don't autofail on ability checks, as they are simply untrained skill checks.

What? A Wisdom check is a d20 + Wisdom Modifier not Wisdom Score. It's like making a skill check without having any ranks, only use the relevant score.

So how about....

Danger Sense
Some people have a feel for the dangerous situations....
Prerequisites: Blind-Fight, base reflex save of +3 or higher
Benefit: When caught flat-footed, you do not lose your Dexterity modifier to your AC.

There is nothing wrong with this feat, even though it is IDENTICAL to the initial Uncanny Dodge.

Why? SIMPLE. TWO FEATS. That's TWO feats that it takes a non-rogue character to get the ability. Rogues get it by gaining levels and don't spend ANY feats.

Many feats duplicate class abilities. Some ARE class abilities. There is nothing wrong with that. It allows more customization of a character without taking a multi-class path.

Yes, I am nuts.

BOOGHA BOOGHA BOOGHA!!!!!!!!!

See? :D

Anyways, Uncanny Dodge is pretty damn powerful. I mean, come on. Can't be caught Flat-Footed? Can't be flanked? That's pretty frickin' cool in my book.

WRONG. There is NO ability I am aware of that stops one from being flat-footed. Uncanny Dodge merely lets you retain Dex bonus to AC REGARDLESS OF BEING FLAT-FOOTED.

The book is pretty clear. You're ALWWAYS flat-footed until your first turn.

Actually there MAY be a Prestige Class somewhere that takes it away, but I can't think of any right now. Certainly not little ol' Rogue.

NOT WRONG. You're preaching symantecs. It goes without saying that Uncanny Dodge simply allows you to retain your Dex bonus to AC. Why state the obvious? Here, maybe I should have stated it like this:

1) Retain Dex bonus to AC when caught flat-footed.
2) When you're caught flat-footed, you retain your Dex bonus to AC.
3) You don't lose your Dex bonus to AC when you're caught flat-footed.
4) In the event that you're caught flat-footed, not only are you not caught completely unaware, but you retain your Dex bonus to AC.
5) Unlike many of the other loser classes, you don't lose your Dex bonus to AC when you're caught flat-footed.
6) Being caught flat-footed doesn't cause you to lose your Dex bonus to AC.
7) Just because you get caught flat-footed, doesn't mean that you lose your Dex bonus to AC. In fact, you retain your Dex bonus to AC.
8) Many classes lose their Dex bonus to AC when caught flat-footed. You don't.
9) Retaining your Dex bonus to AC when you're caught flat-footed is one of your class abilities.

That make you feel better?

My bad. I was smokin' dope there, or something. That's what I get for posting just after waking up. :)

Symantics? I think not. Being caught flat-footed had other effects other than "lose your Dex bonus to AC". Most have to do with specialized classes, but THAT is symantic.

Iajutsu Focus can cause an IMMENSE amount of damage against a FLAT-FOOTED OPPONENT. Uncanny Dodge does NOTHING to protect against this.

Psionic Attack Modes have dreadful consequences against flat-footed opponents, raising the DC save against the powers by +7 or +8.

If you're flat-footed, there are certain spells that will cause you to not get a saving throw if you're flat-footed.

As you can see, Dex bonus to AC is nothing compared to the other penalties of being flat-footed.

Yes. Semantics (whoops, I didn't spell that correctly the first time, DOH! :)).

I think so.

The rest of this crap has nothing to do with the matter at hand, and in fact, I don't even know why you felt it necessary to bring it up, but oh well. *shrug*
