feats for a Ranger (hunter) Forgotten Kingdoms

Anyone have any suggestions? They get expertise. Weapon focus and greatbow proficiency seem reasonable, but otherwise there doesn't appear to be anything else that's horribly needed. I am tempted by the large number of non-combat nature feats, but...

I'm making a level 4 elven hunter. Dex 20, Con 14, Wis 16.

Thoughts?

I had a hard time picking a feat for my level 1 Elven Hunter Ranger, too. I ended up going with Hidden Sniper (if I have partial concealment from a target, I have combat advantage against it with ranged attacks). Seems pretty good, especially if I can hide in some trees and Rapid Shot a group of baddies or something like that.

Off the top of my head...

Primal Sharpshooter (MC Seeker) - If you miss, you hit. If you still miss, you're an elf. You hit. You get a free skill. Although this works best with a balanced DEX/WIS build, you're pretty close -- there are two Seeker at-will powers that can be used as RBAs. Deciding to simultaneously use Rapid Shot to rain RBAs down on a cluster of enemies while Biting Swarm gives them all a -2 to attacks is just delightful. This is best used with...

Superior Reflexes - A controller with CA against the entire battlefield during the first round of combat is a monster.

Combine with Aspect of the Pouncing Lynx or Lurking Spider to get additional bonuses to hit / damage.

Grounding Shot - Smile when enemies drop / fall prone.

Skill Power - Take your pick.

Superior Will is always a good feat. Daze and stun are really obnoxious and +2 will hurts no one.

Improved Initiative/Superior Reflexes in tandem. Have the enemy controlled before they get to act.

Thanks for the thoughts folks.

I'm going with weapon focus and prof. in a superior crossbow. The 3rd feat I'm not sure about, but the seeker one sounds great.

Thanks again!

You know, I've never quite understood Skill Power; is it saying you can select any utility power from any class that is based on one of your trained skills (i.e. Glowering Threat from the essentials Knight)?

As for OP, I've always been a fan of eating the feat tax to specialize in greatbows for my rangers; d12s are fun!

That is incorrect. The feat Skill Power allows you to take any of the Skill Powers defined in PHB3 or other sources. These powers are not associated with any specific class, but with a skill. So Glowering Threat, for example, would not be one of the powers you could take.

Yeah, that didn't seem right, it was just a guess. I should probably look into the PHB3, didn't know they added a whole set of skill-based unclassed utility powers.
