Fee Fi Fo Fum, a Fire Giant I've become!!!

Ok so with regards to the polymorph spell, what's yer second skin preference?

A couple of nights ago we were beset by several Devils whilst picnicing by the River Styxx and the sorcerer turned me into an Annis, (no not an Anus, an ANNIS), and I had great fun wailing on the lot of 'em.

The following day I consulted me MM to see if there was anything better and there it was, in the Giant section........a Fire Giant!!!

I statted me paladin out as though polymorphed into this mutha and OMG, he kicks arse for the lord, (my lord being Raziel, but I digress). Against Devils he rocks! 5 attacks, (all smites and 9 levels of Fist of Raziel to augment them with), with haste gives me something like +38/+38/+33/+28/+23 to hit and doing something in the region of 2d6+2d8+38/hit, (that's adding Divine Might), and the weapon is considered holy/good aligned. The weapon he wields is a +1 keen falchion so crits on 15+ are not unlikely!!! Oh yeah upon smiting it can 'chain' to another 5 of the buggers for another 2d8 damage!

This is my 1st ever character I've played over 12th, (he's 17th), and quite frankly I'm somewhat overwhelmed with the possibilities he's got at his disposal!

So back to me original point, what's yer second skin preference and is there anything better out there, in your opinion, than a Fire Giant?

I kind of like the Treant, mainly because of the +13 natural armor. Slightly weaker than a fire giant, but the extra AC helps a lot. Then there's the immune to critical hits bit as well, and a host of other aspects of the plant type. Really nice.

I like it. IIRC GW do some great Treant/Treeman figures which I'm very tempted to check out now. Immunity to crits is also very nice. Being vulnerable to fire however is not my cup o' tea. :(

Your weapon doesn't resize when you polymorph so if you don't have a spare large weapon to hand you would be at penalties to hit and the weapon damage doesn't go up. Sometimes being a creature with good natural attacks is better which is why treant is so good (and the fact it only has 7HD

At 17th level you could get access to polymorph any object I assume, so this opens up outsider forms (unless of course you were already a native or full outsider). Planetar has great stats and gets +19 NA, Kelvezu demon gets great stats +15 NA and +8d6 sneak attack

Then of course there is shapechange

Ropers are awesome forms as well, 6 ranged touches dealing unsaveable strength damage is just beautiful.

You've got to be kidding. The only thing dangerous about a roper is its ridiculous SR (for parties of equivalent CR anyway).

Nothing a Protection from Energy (Fire) can't handle. :)

Uhm, why do you say this? Is 2d8 Str per strand that grapples you not dangerous?
