Fighting "Mr. T"

Staying at range is a point though. With a move of 20, staying out of its reach is quite possible. The problem is, the regeneration kicks in.

Indoor terrain and that Rush are also going to present a problem.

Unless you're either flying, or in a truly huge room it's pretty much Lose A Guy 1/minute.

Using walls of force as archer screens might be worth looking into, and at 5th level it's within reach of the wizard. It's not a great solution given the duration, but it may be worth considering. Very terrain dependent, however.

Solid Fog and Grease may be additional options to further hinder mobility.

...uh, question. No Wish or Miracle - how do you plan on keeping the big guy down?

Crazy (Soverign) Glue. :D

So here's the deal.

You're forced into melee combat with a powerful melee adversary. Because, let's face it, if you're running across the Tarrasque in the basement of an inescapable dungeon, the DM's basically saying, "I'd like you to fight the Tarrasque, please."

There's no - or, at best, limited - chance of survival. Virtually no chance for escape.

Grim odds, there.

C'mon, this is the Stuff Dreams Are Made Of! Tactically, you already know all the right moves, yourself, and from this thread. It's clear your DM is settin' it up as Your Crew versus The Big "T" in the Rumble in the Dungeon; it's Attack vs AC that he's lookin' for.

Buff, buff, then buff some more, and when you think you're buffed a little more, add some more buffs. Have the Cleric make with the heal-y heal-y, have the Rogue try to make himself useful (I suppose for his own sake he could keep imitating other races, trying to look like something T-Man doesn't find tasty...), have the Bard do what he can to help the Cleric keep you in top form.

And see-wing for the fences! C'mon, Critical Hits! (...yours, not his.)

But, seriously... Without a Wish to spare, how *are* you planning on coming out of this alive?

I have no idea how we're going to do it without Wish or Miracle, but honestly, our DM's (Hussar) confidence that we can do it makes me think that maybe there's something we'll find near Mr. T that'll help us in that department. ;)

If you can't get wraiths, allips are a decent substitute.

Or, if you can get your hands on a helm of opposite alignment in size XXXXXXL and a matching headband of intellect, you can try to reason with it.

Sigh. I dm'd the battle.

Three rounds. T got exactly 2 full attacks. Blat.

Someone mentioned it earlier, T is WAY over CR'd. The party used all core and didn't even go all that nuts on the buffs. The cleric stood behind the barbarian with readied Heal spells and the barbie obliterated T with the help of the archer. Some minor help was provided by a couple of Trumpet Archon's, but, nothing major.

A bit disappointing really.

We were buffed to the gills. If we hadn't been prepared it would've been a lot harder, and probably more deadly.

As it was, though, when we KO'd it we were all at full HP. My bardic songs didn't even have time to wear off because I'd stopped playing. :D

OK, buffed to the gills but how did you actually take him down?

Also, how did you keep him down?

The enlarged, hasted, bard-inspired barbarian with five attacks per round and the enlarged, hasted, bard-inspired archer with six, along with two enlarged, hasted, bard-inspired trumpet archons just kept pounding at it, while the flying cleric kept them healed, the bard kept playing her songs in the background, and the (also flying) Master of Winds/Wizard threw his sword at it a few times. We were doing over 200 damage per turn, I think, after DR. Once we got it down, we called in the high-level cellestial (I don't know her exact race) who had saved a miracle spell for us.

After it was over the DM (Hussar) had said there were other ways available to keep it down without the cellestial, but frankly I didn't like the sound of them and I won't spoil a possible WLD ending for other players.
