I love that version of Arakoth! I went in completely the opposite direction, wanting a bone-like appearance for the scenario I was planning to use it in:

I don't believe in the no-win scenario
The winged woman was painted in 2020 (I think), she’s from the Dolminion boxed set for Age of Sigmar. The griffin is from Wizkids and was partially painted for more than two years.

I’m just comparing the wings I painted a few years back to what I finished today. Big improvement I think.

And here is the griffin by itself.

I appreciate it. I'm at a point where I'm really proud of some of the models I've painted, but still have trouble with consistency. And I'm not getting any younger, so I'm at that point where I'm starting to have some difficulty seeing up close, which is bad when you're painting miniatures. I'm still having fun though.

I really like your version of Arakoth. I'll probably purchase another Arakoth because I want to paint it in a more naturalist set of colors than bright red and blue. Your spider looks scary as hell.

Yeah, Im painting mostly Battletech these days and I feel decent and know im getting better. My Achilles heel is cockpit canopies becasue they are so small and my eyes are not good. I also need a new prescription for my glasses.

I'm in my mid-40s. Getting a pair of these these was the best decision ever. Not painting without them anymore. Just sayin'.

Same. I have a pair too and they are essential.

I have also thought about the large magnifying glass on an arm/stand as well but for now how glasses.

Also have found a headlamp or other light source essential (I often use my phone light with my phone propped up on something) needed too as my eyes age…
