D&D 5E Finding minis for Basic D&D characters - what are the "default" weapons for each basic class?

I know we don't have the rules yet, but I'm too impatient to wait, and want to get started helping my players find miniatures for their first level basic D&D characters we'll use when the Starter Box comes out. One player already settled on an elf rogue with a bow, and even found the miniature for the character, Reaper's Alistrilee, Elf Archer (http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/03166).

Another player will play a human cleric, but was wondering if a mace is the default weapon for basic clerics in the game.

Another player wants a dwarf fighter with an axe, but is wondering what the pros and cons are for weilding an axe and shield versus a two handed axe.

And the last player will play a wizard but was wondering if wizards in the basic game use implements, to see if his mini should have wand, staff, orb or other implement.

If things don't change much from the latest playtest packet, other than get boiled down to the most basic subclass for each of the basic classes, what is you guess would be the default weapon for a human cleric, and for a dwarf fighter, and what if anything would a wizard most often hold in his hand while adventuring in the Basic game?

For cleric, it depends on domain. From the last playtest packet, Life and Light Domain clerics use a mace, while war clerics use a warhammer. I would guess a battle axe for a dwarf. Mages do need to use some implement in order to get the full benefit of their spells, but this could be anything -- a spell book, a wand, etc. I don't see why it couldn't be a staff; and many wizards have one anyway.

From what I'd gather, a dwarf fighter with a hammer or axe, a human cleric with a mace or morningstar, a wizard with a staff, and a elf with a bow will probably match just fine with 5e.

Zoroaster100: My advice would be to have your players pick a miniature that they like and best fits their character's "look". I wouldn't worry too much about matching stuff in 5E as we haven't seen it (the rules) in final form yet. I'd concentrate on matching figure to character concept first.

If you really want to match the starter pre-gens I think WOTC has an Icons of the Realms miniature set that has 1 each of core classes and then a Drizzt figure. That's out in July I think.

I see you are looking at Reaper. They have tons of great figures, enough variation that you can pretty much find a figure to match just about anything ypu can think of.

If the Icons of the Realms miniature set does match the pre-gens in the starter set, then they are dwarf cleric, human ranger, halfling rogue, northlands fighter and elf wizard.

The dwarf Has a two-handed hammer/mattock thing, the fighter and axe and the wizard is just holding a blob of flame.

I don't think the plastic Icons set matches the Basic Starter Box pregens. For one thing, the Starter Box won't have rangers, just fighters, rogues, clerics and wizards. In any case, my understanding is that it will be possible for my players to use the online character generation rules to play any combination of human/dwarf/elf/halfling and fighter/cleric/rogue/wizard at the time the Starter Box releases.

Except for Drizzt, the figures in the Icon set do match the characters in the Starter. I asked at the ACD Open House. The "human ranger" could also be a human fighter with an archer build.

That explanation for the human ranger does seem most likely. Thank you!

Cheers!

Sorry to not answer the OP question. Based on the Icon figures,
  1. Human Fighter with Greataxe
  2. Human Fighter with bow
  3. Elf Mage, casting spell
  4. Dwarf Cleric with warhammer/maul
  5. Halfling Rogue with (short)sword
