Firefly RPG I want it!

As far as there not being enough info to successfully make a game, I'd say that, thanks to the three unaired shows, there is JUST enough info to make a complete game (one of those three answered questions I had about the state of energy weapons in the Firefly universe, another episode answered my questions about alien races).

And the other had space hookers. That's a game in and of itself.

Seriously though, I agree. Between the dvd's, that little database I posted above, and a little DIY, there is plenty to go on. Having watched the series, I think it's pretty easy to determine what story elements fit in with the flavor. I would wing it, and just keep in mind: What Would Wheedon Do? :D

For a nice reference try here:
Firefly Reference

Useful regardless of ruleset!

very, very cool! my wife discovered firefly from her father and passed the bug onto me. the DVD set is positively one of my best media buys this year.

i haven't gotten my hands on D20 Future, but why couldn't you run a Firefly campaign with plain old D20 Modern? The high-tech stuff is completely peripheral to the excellent story-telling in the series and easily winged with the rules already present in D20 Modern.

apparently margaret weis is putting out an RPG with a unique rules system based on Serenity/Firefly... someday. but i just might whip up a campaign myself with that website and my D20 Modern.

Wow! For a second there, I thought Hal Greenberg was back! Darn... :(

God, how time flies... We go wishing for it, and a year later Margaret Weis has wrangled the license on a non-d20 (and purportedly VERY good) version.

Too many new RPGs, too little money and time...

Inara, inshmara.

Gimme Kylie.

Mmmm...adjust my thermal intakes, you hot little techie chick....

Uhm...was that my outside voice?
I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way.

Inara is hot but Kylie had something. I think it was her innocence. She looked at everything as a wonder. She was more child like than Summer and in that dark world it was refreshing.

Don't forget people, Serenity (aka Firefly: the Movie) opens in theaters September 30th. There's already an office party/movie trip scheduled here at Alternate Realities Publications to celebrate. We were going to start a betting pool on what would be the first "stupid thing to come out of Jayne's mouth", but the options are too limitless for anyone to have a decent chance of winning.

I hope he wears the hat his mom sent him. I think someone should say something bad about it. I'd love to see his reaction.
