first time warlock advice

I plan to play a Warlock for the first time and I want to capitalize on the eldritch blast feature. So I am wondering, are there any feats for use with weaponlike spells beyond those in complete arcane?

And since I don't plan on using a weapon, is there something that I can use in my hands that increases ranged touch attacks or generally benefits a warlock's spellcasting. A rod/staff won't work since I can't actually cast spells. Failing that I may just use a net or bolas to trip people.

dandu basically nailed it.

however, off the top of my head, i'd say stock up on cheap, mostly empty wands, and store them in a wand bracer, so you don't have to waste an action to yoink one out. oh, and try to get all of the meta spell-like abilities, such as maximize, empower, etc. you won't be doing the most damage in the group, but you will be doing some fairly consistent damage. especially when you get ambushed and the basically empty psion and wizard are nigh-useless. you really start to come into your own when the number of encounters gets higher, because most other 'spell' based classes have mostly exhausted their resources.
