As Fin opens the golden chest a dozen tiny vipers appear and begin to move toward you.

Grackle gasps! "Snakeses! They bites you an' make you ITCHIES! Bad snakeses! Bad!" He gibbers and points at them, sending five shiny bolts of magic at the snakes.

1d20+4=16, 5d4+5=24
Casting Magic Missile, targeting 5 different snakes. I rolled the MM alongside Grackle's initiative just to simplify it.
5 damage to the first and second snakes, 4 to the third snake, 5 to the fourth and fifth snake.
Active Effects: Mage Armor, False Life.
Spell Slots Remaining: 6/6 0-level, 3/7 1st-level, 4/7 2nd-level, 6/7 3rd-level, 3/5 4th-level.[/sblock]
