Four Arms, please help

Corlon

First Post
In my campaign my brother is player a knuk (7 foot tall humanoid four armed cat with horns) ranger (making his way to tempest), and I have a couple questions about the attacks.

With multitasking, can he use the super duper huge amount of attacks with two weapons twice?

In addition to two weapon attacks, can he use multi attack to get an extra four attacks?

In short, can someone tell me all the ranger/tempest four armed things and how they add together for the most attaks possible?:D

but doesn't multi tasking say that you could use two things simoultaneously with each set of arms, meaning you could use your two weapon bonuses with each set of arms?

And another question, can you use two bows if you have amibdex/two weapon fighting and two arms?

whats the answer to the multi attack mixed with two weapon fighintg, are they both different full round actions, or can you use em both?

I don't know what multi tasking is, sorry.

Firing two bows at once I wouldn't allow as the lower set of arms would interfere and couldn't be aimed properly.

No no no. IDHTBIFOM, but I believe this is how it works.

The feats he needs are multiattack and multidexterity. He then gets an extra attack for each arm that is weilding a weapon. I'd make one hand be primary and inflict the penalties if any of the other three weren't light.

Say he has a bab of +6/+1 and a strength of 14 (so it will eat the TWF penalty :) ). This would give him +6/+6/+6/+6/+1 - one at the highest bab, plus one for each extra weapon. He is trying to argue (I believe) that he gets treated as two seperate characters, thus getting +6/+6/+1 from his first two arms then +6/+6/+1 from the second. This is incorrect.

Its still nasty, and only one attack less at the level I demonstrated. But as he goes up and gets more attacks, the problem will get greater and greater.

I hope you really stuck it to him on the ECL for playing such a race :)

heheheh

no, I roll the races, and whatever they get, they get, with almost no ECL (this guy has +1)

the book says its +1, but tahts a bit low I think

so ur saying that any two handed stuff shouldn't effect him?

and.. what about multi tasking, cause this requires a bunch of two weapon fighting feats but lets you use weapons and spells at the same time... I'm not sure what to do about it.

Actually, if he's using weapons, he needs Multiweapon Fighting. Multiattack only works with natural weapons.

Multitasking is more geared towards spellcasters.

It allows multiple armed creatures to cast a spell per round with each pair of arms. So a Marillith with 6 arms could have her top two arms casting magic missile, her bottom two casting snowball swarm, and bottom two casting fireball.

I do not see how multitasking applies to multiple weapon fighting.

As I understood it, each of your non-primary hands is an offhand. If you have multiweapon fighting and multidexterity it is the same has having two weapon fighting and ambidexterity for a normal character.

That is to say you normally get X number of attacks with your primary hand +1 attack for your offhand. Multiweapon and Multidexterity work the same way. X attacks with your primary +1 attack for each of your off-hands.

So your four armed horned cat flying purple people eater would get 1 attack with his primary hand and 1 additional attack with each of his off hand's for 4 total attacks.

Should he ever qualify for improved multiweapon fighting (like improved two weapon fighting), he will get 2 additional attacks for each offhand.

Should he ever qualify for greater multiweapon fighting (like greater two weapon fighting), he will get 3 additional attacks for each off hand.

Should he every qualify for perfect multiweapon fighting (like perfect two weapon fighting), he will get a number of attack with each offhand equal to the number of attack he gets with his primary hand from base attack bonus and he will instantly be smited from above for his insanely inaccurate ECL of +1.

Clear as mud? Good.
