D&D (2024) Free Rules Updated with DMG content.

I will continue to apologize, but I seem to be missing something. I've seen some people post about the lore glossary updates and various things in this thread, but I am not seeing any kind of lore glossary in the free rules.

I believe some of that was pulled from the site after the fact.

Do you mean a game that had a narrative, or a game with a plot written beforehand? If the former, yes. If that latter, I've played in them but try to avoid them.

My complaint isn't just that I don't like prepared plots, though. It's that there is a fundamental tension between them and player agency, and telling people they can have both will lead to trouble.

Here.
If the DM decides that there are raiders in this cave to the north who are planning bad things, that is plot.

On October 29, with the release of Master Tier Early Access for the 2024 Dungeon Master’s Guide, we inadvertently updated the D&D Free Rules (2024) with additional content that was not intended to be released as part of the Free Rules.

The Free Rules serve as introductory materials that Dungeon Masters and players can use to start playing Dungeons & Dragons. They are not meant to be a substitution for the core rulebooks.

At the time of this message, the D&D Free Rules (2024) have been restored to their intended content.

The initial update to the free rules included almost the entire DMG, with only Bastions and I think one other section left out. This was apparently more than initially intended, and a bunch of it got removed not long after. There’s still DMG content in the free rules, but it’s significantly less of the book than before. The lore glossary was one of the things that got removed.

Lol... I do understand what you're saying, and who you are probably saying that about! I hope you understand my point, though, and why I choose to listen to all sides of an argument? I respect everyone and the right to their opinions. I sometimes find their opinions poorly thought out, and have no respect for someone not thinking through what they believe in. But even then, I still give those folks a shot to recover. No final judgements on a person. We all fumble sometimes.

But I get it... you're here to engage in your hobby, not fight the fight. All good, full respect. Just consider what I'm saying though... not a huge price to pay.
Fair enough...but it may just not be worth the pain.
