I was thinking the other day about a game called FRENZY, which came out around 1995 in Britain and Ireland. It was based on the action-movie genre and had a particularly good combat system that was fast and furious.
Players played cops in "Dirty Harry" style scenarios, or gang members in scenes like those in, say, "Gone in 60 seconds" (I know that movie didn't co-incide with the game's release, but you get the idea). I believe there was also a sci-fi variant contained in the single rulebook.
Well, I bought a couple of copies at a convention, played the sample scenarios and wrote a couple of home-grown ones. FRENZY was "cinematic", and boy was it good.
The game, to my knowledge, was never published except by the designer, who, as far as I know, never did anything else with it. What a pity. It was a winner.
Q1: Did anyone every hear of this game and/or play it?
Q2: What other games have you played that never developed further but you wish had done?
