Wow. That's a lot of paperwork.

Usually there is a lot of waiting around, because they have to phone someone to inform them that they are about to act on the email that has just been sent confirming that the work we booked in 48 hours ago is about to start.

Almost as bad as when we had to phone up head office so they could phone a outside company to confirm their agent arrived.

Oh we get similar nonsense. My favourite was,

"You're not on the access list for tonight, I'll check with the engineer...."

10mins later, "You have a work permit for the evening, but no one's raised you an access permit..."

So I can work on site as long as I can do it through the fence.

I get that all the time. Facilities is often pretty bad at letting us know when contractors are coming and wherr they're supposed to be. And contractors like to show up really early, before Facilities opens and can give permission.

Oh I love you guys. We had a refit not using company contractors so we needed one of our security guys to stay over night with them, they are sat for 8hours with nothing to do, so they do the cleaning for us twas great.
