D&D 5E [Full] Tall's PotA Campiagn

OOC: No idea how you attack subduel with a bow! :-D

It is a bit of a silly, but there isn't subdual damage anymore, since you're technically only unconscious when you reach 0 HP (All damage is subdual?). I just think its not worth worrying about unless healing is a major shtick for the enemy (eg you're fighting a bunch of Clerics).

OOC: I'm surprised he hasn't dropped yet!!

That's because you guys keep missing him :P he has AC 16. Once everyone has posted their first actions I'll see how things go...

That's kind of the problem with any "bag of hitponts" style game.

The alternative non ablative systems are a LOT of work though.

Ye when players know they can die they make better decisions I find as opposed to ill just kill it.

Perfect example playing vampires one player thought he couldn't be killed by humans... the 20 or so town guard destroyed him.

He wasn't killed by vampires. A werewolf. That we had no way of hurting (we did put 1 level of fatigue on him). Stupid idiot kid wouldn't run loke the rest of us, so my modern day paladin had to go back and try and save his ass. We both died.

Never liked HP at all I much prefer a wound system.
I think I prefer low HP with damage reduction from armour. It feels a lot less grindy without the fear of wounds systems (not that they can't be fun as well). Throw in a basic fatigue mechanic for low HP and I think that's a winner for me.

DnD is an odd choice of favourite for me as I like non class based characters, low ablative HP systems and non Vancian magic. ???
