Genasi and weapon proficiency

I *think* SavSpe mentions that you only keep the weapon proficiencies by type if you keep the racial Hit Dice (Which you typically do not for player races). Don't nail me down on that, though.

There's a sidebar on page 13 that addresses what a 1 hit die creature does and does not keep when it replaces its racial hit die with class hit die. It makes no mention about losing weapon proficiencies. If anything, it seems to illustrate that you keep anything tied to your race, such as racial bonus feats and racial skill bonuses, and as well all know, a drow does not lose darkvision when it swaps its 1 monster hit die with a fighter hit die.

So does that mean thay my wife's cleric - who's got 5 levels of Divine Disciple, making her an outsider - suddenly became proficient with all martial weapons?

And monks get this at 20th level?

The only difference between a native outsider and a true outsider is that one is native and one is not. See the Planetouched in Chapter 1 of the FRCS, Native Outsider subheading. (Sorry, I can't give a page number. My PDF doesn't have any.)

I meant that if the aasimar, genasi and tiefling did get weapon proficiencies, why isn't it mentionned anywhere in the FRCS (caveats: 1) i missed that part and/or 2) you're not playing with the FRCS - but you have it. In PDF format. I'm calling the authorities)

I have no idea. If I had written it, I would have made mention of it and the whole world would be a happier place for it. Actually, it wasn't mentioned until MMII, AFAIK.

OK, this is starting to get weird. Going strictly by this kind of info, a human is better off without any class at all (gets d8 hit die, prof. in all simple weapons, 6 skill points) than to take up the commoner class (d4 hit die, prof. in one simple weapon, 2 skill points).

Wow. The commoner class sucks even worse now.

OK. If anyone is interested in why I started this thread, here's why. I think the Genasis' ECL is way off. All four of them. Seriously. I figure that their ECL is less than a 1. Actually, I figure it to be about a third of a 1, but that's including the outsider weapon proficiency. Take that out, and I figure them to be about a fifth or a sixth of a 1.

In effect, I'm about to drop that ECL mod all together.
