When Gen Con gets closer I will probably post here on behalf of my wife to see what other gamer wives or SO's want to get together to do something outside the convention.

If I wind up going, she can count me in to do something outside of Gen Con (esp. the zoo)!

Do you have an idea what night it will be? Because right now it looks like I'll be coming Friday-Sunday. I know it won't be Friday night.

My SO and I con together but we are both hard core gamers and were before we met. He didn't have to get me to roll my stats, I rolled them and we had a home game.

That said....
I would just not go Art.

Let's let that sink in a moment.

How we doing with it?

Ok now that it sunk in, plan a fun weekend find OTHER things you guys share in common. Besides Caryn is going away to college, she doesn't need to go to it tired and consick.

This is very wise.

i agree with Orby. A con is an event you can go anytime in your life, but a true loving relationship that may end after a year of togetherness, that time you can't have again after it's gone especially with the distance y'all are talking about. Skip the con, goto the keys, goto the hamptons, do a getaway the 2 of you.

She may be doing this to please you and go, but in the end it's about the both of you that counts and not one or the other.

I played in a NASCRAG game last year with a couple. It was her first D&D game EV-AR, and well, if you've ever seen or played in a NASCRAG event, you know it's probably not the best introduction to the game. She was, well...ummm... a good sport, but you could tell she was just doing it to be with her boyfriend. To her credit, she did show a lot more common sense than he did as a player, and acted as the voice of reason in all their PC's decisions.

I ran into them the next afternoon, and she told me that she was going home early and leaving him there. I wonder if they're even still together.
