Gencon Hotels are on sale at 2pm, and all earlier reservations were WIPED

Didn't do this, just thought I'd share

It seems like this is one of those snafus a company makes that most places wave. First only 200 hotel rooms were registered with no hotels sold out. To fix this error, they have to cost another 2 hours, frustrating 1200 potential customers.

That's perfectly fair and equitable. It wouldn't be fair is just some of the registrants weren't pissed off!

:p

I think they began to feel us gencon goers become ...hopeful... in the registration process this year.

Apparently they needed to squash this with the biggest blunder ever.

you weren't stuck in the lines at Gen Con Indy 03 i take it.
nah got mine mailed that year. But you're right. I was thinking biggest registration blunder. Then again, I guess this doesnt rank with last year when people were double charged and mischarged for events.

As far as I'm concerned, the best thing they could have done would have been to negotiate an additional 200 rooms from the hotels. Even if it meant paying the difference between the normal and the non-con cost, they could have made the problem go away and kept everybody happy for not too much money.

Anyone have any luck with the lodging website? It's been 15 minutes now and it's timed out 4 times on me.
I got it on the third try. I actually couldn't have made 12:00 but made 2:00, so I wasn't screwed by last night's debacle, though I still think they were dead wrong.
