Well, there's always Castles & Crusades. It has its own warts, but its a pretty solid system. As an added bonus, you won't lack for source material (BEMI, 1st AD&D, 2nd AD&D, etc.). Of course, if you have a hate-on for it (as some do), ignore this message.
