D&D 5E Ghost of Dragonspear - Updated to Final Playtest Packet?

Hi folks,

My group's DM bought Ghost of Dragonspear Castle today, and mentioned that it had an updated D&D Playtest packet included with it.

My question is (and I searched but could not find an answer) - Was the module itself updated with compatibility information from the final playtest packet, or is the content of the module still from it's early 2013 release and an older playtest packet?

Thanks.

It was updated with the most current playtest info at the time the file was released, as best as I know. So late 2013 playtest info, IIRC.

And if I decide to run Ghosts of Dragonspear Castle with 5E Basic? Shouldn't be difficult to convert, right?

I think it should be fairly easy. Just be careful with the monster math, as some of the statistics may have changed. One thing the Kobold Press folks mentioned about the difficulty of writing the Tyranny of Dragons adventures was that they would use some monsters, send stuff off to have playtested, and get TPKs because "human warrior" stats essentially changed from 1st level to 5th level (or some such thing). I think this kind of thing will be the most significant issue, given the ruleset with which it was written and the changes made after the fact.

Maybe once Basic is release, nice smart board people will convert GoDC to the new monsters.

I should have a conversion done within a week or so of release of Basic (if I can find my copy of GoDC). Hoping to convert all of the playtest adventures to full 5E by the end of July.

aww <blush> my goal is to convert as many good adventures as I can over to 5E. First step are the easy ones (Vault of the Dracolich, Dragonspear, the D&D Encounters), then hoping to do Emerald Spire and Rise of the Runelords from PF. I'm taking requests for adventures if folks are interested.

New monsters? If I understand this correctly, people are thinking the monster math will be redone in the final release? If so, what problem is the change supposed to address?
