And I have never understood those that don't understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if you disagree. I even said it might not suck.

It is one thing to have an opinion on something that exists. But to diss something that has not even had a total script weitten or even one roll of film shot juist seems rather strange to me. And rather close minded.

I also never said that you could not have your own opinion. I was just curious how you formed your opinion based on so little.

How? Ben Stiller being in the cast almost clinches it. The man isn't funny! The only movie of worth he's been in is Mystery Men, and that one could have done just as well without him.

Now this is an opinion I understand. I don't agree with it I like Ben Stiller. But I feel the same way about Jim Carrey. I cannot stand him. So I am always a little wary about films that he is in.

In other words, everyone is entitled to their informed opinion. A lot of people conveniently forget that "informed" is the operative word there.

I believe you are forgetting "Dodgeball."

And Royal Tenenbaums, Zoolander, Meet the Parents, There's Something About Mary.

Granted, I might be the only person who liked those movies.

Yes an informed opinion. Like I said before how can you form opinion if you don't know anything about a project.

I don't say a movie is going to suck just because say Jim Carrey is in it. I will say I don't think I will like it because of that.

I just don't get how many people say oh that movie is going to suck when it has not even been made.

This is real button pusher for me and really tends to get my goat. :\

Hm, interesting. I don't like Carrey's "stupid comedy" work (like Dumb and Dumber). But in most of his other work he shows to me that he can both act and be funny. I can understand the man has certain "bread and butter" work, but he frequently steps outside it and shines.

Well, you aren't the only person who liked Royal Tenenbaums, or Meet the Parents. I am a big fan of both of those movies. I am not a huge Stiller fan though. Most of the movies I like that he was in are not because of him. Royal Tenenbaums was all about Gene, Meet the Parents was all about DeNiro, and Dodgeball was all about Vince Vaughn.

I think Ghostbusters III would have been a great thing 10 years ago, now I am not so sure. It has sat too long but as some have said, it sounds like this is a dead project.

You aren't. I really like There's Something About Mary and like the others as well. I think he is pretty funny.

Well, a movie "sucking" is a matter of opinion. There's a plot summary here, so he has enough information to determine if he thinks he'll dislike it.

Hell, you can make a pretty good informed opinion about a film with just four words: "directed by Uwe Boll". :)

Personally, I'm worried when a creator returns to a series after a decade or so. I can't recall ever seeing a case in which it turned out well. I think part of it has to do with the changes in the creators' lives in the meantime. Maybe they are coming at it from a "different place" and whatever spark they had in the original is gone or changed.

No one wants for a movie to be bad, so, if it's made, I hope it's good. But, it does appear to be dead, so it's all moot, anyway.
