Good idea. Thegiant type made no sense to me; unlike everything else, it relies on having a certain Size category (eg, no Tiny Giants :( ).

Which would be Humanoid, which would be Monst. Humanoids?

I was thinking the same thing myself. However, I think they use the Humanoid type as a means of restricting certain spells. Forex Hold Person. You could just change those spells to only affect Humanoids of Medium size or smaller. I can't think of any Large Humanoid.

I can't think of any that I'd make Monsterous.

What do people think about making getting rid of the Giant type, and makeing them humanoids and monstrous humanoids with a Giant subtype?

I've been considering this now for a few weeks. With the removal of the Beast type, I wondered about other ways to simplify the system... and the "always Large+" Giants seemed an ideal choice for the "always Medium-" Humanoids.

There are few mechanical changes, especially since Humanoids have a 'floating' good save. I'm just surprised that this change wasn't a part of 3.5...

I don't really think a "giant" type makes sense, period: Giantism is all relative, anyway. "Giants" are simply bigger humanoids. If it's got a size like "Huge", it's a giant unless you happen to be huge. Even if YOU don't want to call it a giant, if I see one, *I* sure as hell am going to call it a giant.

And remember: The bigger they are, the louder the squish you make when they step on you.
