Psion and Elementalist are opposites. Essentially, mind versus matter.
Psion includes "spirit", ether, telekinesis, and force objects, as well as sometimes radiant auras and luminosity.
The power source of psionic magic is ones own soul: living body-aura "ki", "spirit" being sense-of-self influence and ghost-like telekinesis, and "mind" being mindscape of reality-bending Wish and transcendent consciousness enlightenment.
Things that manipulate the elements− earth (metal, crystals), fire (Fireball), water-air (weather) − do better away from the psionic tropes.
However, the sense of the soul pervading and enlivening the body to form lifeforms is psionic. Especially in Nordic tropes, healing (including resurrection) and shapeshifting (including Beast forms and Dragon forms) are important aspects of the mind − all of this is "psychometabolism", which I prefer to call "form" "shifting".
