Give Stephen Colbert a free copy of Dungeons and Dragons 4th edition

The purpose of the thread is that getting D&D onto The Colbert Report is great publicity for the game's new edition. I don't want to get into politics with you, Maelstrom, but you clearly aren't understanding the point of The Colbert Report. Perhaps you have not seen Colbert hosting the press corps dinner? Try YouTube.

He's already known to be a fan of D&D...

I'm not sure what the problem is. Go to New York. The Daily Show studio is pretty obvious. You can line up there to see the show. Go there with the rulebooks in hand. Usually in shows like this, the audience gets a bit of facetime with the host. Just let someone know that you have something special for Mr. Colbert.

My point is I don't stand by the idea to gather money for him. WotC as a team working for this they can send a free copy.

That's fine. Just ignore this thread. Don't post. Let it stand or fall on interest or lack of interest alone. This started as a fun idea that a WOTC staffer had. It is not an official promotion, although any free publicity would certainly not hurt, regardless of how much money WOTC has or does not have. Please let's limit ourselves to constuctive conversation and fun.

Thanks and Best Wishes,

I'll add in that I'd love for Colbert to be one of the writers for Heroes of Hilarity, a sourcebook for a comedy campaign similar to Heroes of Horror or Battle. Whoever gets on the show for this should definitely bring it up.

First off, for an anti-war person just the mention of this is offensive.

Man, if you are critical of the republican administration and are not familiar with Stephen Colbert, you are robbing yourself from endless hours of hilarity! That guy is great.

The pearl of course is that speech he got to give in-character at 2006 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in presence of George Bush. To this day I can't fathom how he managed that, but I doubt Bush will let him anywhere near a mic in his presence ever again! It was hilarious.

Go to Youtube! Right now!

PS : Being Anti-war is one thing, but that statement was a little holier-than-thou. I'm an atheist and yet I don't get offended by "just the mention" of God, you know what I mean?

I'm a little unneverd. I really thought Colbert spoke for me and my fellows on the right. I rue the day in his folly youth that he fell victim to this liberal spewing fantastic game you all refer to as D&D. It must have insidiously limited his bright future as a true three legged stool of the Americna Right. It has now made him a faux-gut-thinker who is forever considered a mere persona. Colbert is much more than a mere persona .... he's on cable.

Not to thread-bait but how do we bridge this partisan divide ...... the answer: 4th Edition(?)
C.I.D.

(my post doesn't make sense to me either .... thank you Colbert)

If the mere mention of Republicans (the only thing that could be remotely connected to war in the post) is offensive to you, then I'd advise you keep away from television/radio/internet/newspaper during any election period.
