I like all of what I see so far, especially if these are the unfinished, the finals should look fantastic for a weapons book.

I could look at pictures of weapons all day long...

Yeah, me too, and it's a good thing. I've been working with the artist on these for over a year. At first we had to go back and forth 8 or 9 times to get the images just right. Now he's got the process streamlined and he does each one perfect the first time almost every time. I bought him a copy of Oakeshottes records of the Medieval sword and he's got every other weapons book I own. Plus we use sites like myarmoury.com and swordforum international a lot.

All in all I think we did something like 260 different weapons from first sketch to final photoshop processing, and we are still working on the armor. I enjoy it though, I think weapons are a high form of art, especially the earlier period stuff. The elegance of some of those swords in particular is something I find breathtaking, and I think Ramone captures that really well.

There's a lot of art out there that is atrocious to look at, and a lot that one can look at and enjoy. Your work is in another, much smaller, set of art; beyond just "acceptable," these pieces are really nice. I especially liked looking at the sketches in the same thread with the finished products; the design and development process of art is one thing that I love, being able to see how something progresses from start to finish.

Thank you for your well worded and gracious comments, I agree that the process of developing the art is almost as interesting as the finished product, I'll probably be putting some of that development stuff somewhere in the material if possible. Your good taste is understandable given the part of the world you hail from, as both the artist and I are from New Orleans.
