Good books for use in creating flying ships

The Spelljammer mini game from a few Polyhedrons ago might have some usable stuff. Also, the Dragon issue with the vehicle rules had a vehicle enhancement that gave vehicles the power of flight.

Bastion Press will soon be coming out with such a product which, having playtested it, should fit your needs nicely. I was having spelljammer flashbacks flipping through it.

Whaddya mean - flipping through it - have you seen it already, teneb????

Teneb was a playtester for it, Ashy. I've seen the playtest copy also and I have to say I am impressed. Sam Witt did a bang up job with it. :)

Coolness. Lucky sod. ;)

Yea, I cannot wait for it!

You know, this is an odd thought, but you might want to look at the stronghold builders book. There are provisions there for mobile strongholds, and it occured to me you could just as easily consider a ship as a mobile stronghold.

Now granted, it probably doesn't go down to the level of detail you want, but it might be a place for some ideas.

I'm guessing the Bastion one is for the humanoid flying tiger race out of the minions monster books and Oathbound, since they were in the monster descriptions but no stats provided. ( I only have minions rebirth so I can't say if they are described as using flying ships in Oathbound as well.)

Some of the warlords in Arena use airships AFAIR, so yes, it will be pertinent to Oathbound too. Fairies is sitting on my hard-drive right now, but I haven't had a chance to look at it. A friend I play with is really excited because she's been bugging our DM to play a fairy.
