Ok for some reason I now into Punk Rock but I only listen to the Sex Pistols, Sid Vicious, Generation X and Billy Idol. So what else is out there?

I don't know if I would consider Bill Idol "punk." ;)

Ramones
Rancid
The Stooges (Iggy Pop)
Iggy Pop solo
Echo and the Bunnymen
Circle Jerks
Old Elvis Costello
Black Flag
Butthole Surfers
Old Green Day

I'll see if I can't think of any more.

I'm assuming you mean old-school UK punk, rather than any LA hardcore punk from the early 80s or more recent "punk-lite" bands like Green Day, Rancid, and Offspring. My contribution:

Buzzcocks
The Clash
The Damned
pre-synthesizer Gary Numan (with Tubeway Army)
Killing Joke, especially the first album (brilliant), got pretty artsy later on

An interesting punk variant were the original lineup of Ultravox, with John Foxx as lead vocalist. They were cyberpunks a decade before that term was coined. A weird mix of punk guitar, electric viola (!) and analog synthesizer, lots of cabaret decadence and Roxy Music crooning thrown in for good measure.

Echo and the Bunnymen were generally considered "neo-psychedelic"; I never heard them as punk. But they are a great band -- I've seen them twice live.

Elvis Costello adopted some of punk's stances on his early albums, but soon dropped that persona.

Billy Idol, no, but Generation X, his early band, yes.

On the other hand, if you are interested in the LA punk scene...

...X, Los Angeles.

Still one of my all-time favorite recordings.

Yeah, great band; Under the Big Black Sun is a good disc, too. OK, how about Dead Kennedys, if we're going to talk about LA punk?

Bowling for Soup is Punk? I didn't know that but they're cool. I love their song "Almost". And how Billy Idol not Punk? He was part of the Bromley Contigent. Also I'm mostly looking for the old UK Punk stuff.

He may have been part of a punk band, but "White Wedding," "Rebel Yell," "Dancing with Myself," and "Rock the cradle of love" don't scream "punk" to me.

Oh, but "Dancing with myself" was Generation X not just Billy Idol. But you gotta love Gen X for "Kiss me deadly" not only is it a great song but I think I can turn it into a pick up line.
