good rings?

First Post
For this post let's assume the DM allowed the creation of this new magic item.

Ring 1
The books state you can add metamagic to items without needing the feats but that there cost would still increase as if the level of the spell did. So you take a incantrix with the forge ring feat. Incantrix prepars metamagic at one level lower than everyone else so it would allow him to make metamagic items cheaper than everyone else. I believe you can also stack metamagic feats as longs as you have the levels. (For instance a double empowered fireball. Empower is normally +2 to level. For incantrix it would only be +1. This would allow him to empower mage armor 8 times for a +20 to ac.) So make a 8 time empowered continous True Strike ring.(+100 to hit) A munchkins dream.

Ring 2
Ring of Unlimited Wishes. Sure it would cost 500000 xp just for all of the wish spells needed and it's market price would be at least 6 million but hey it's worth it.

Double empower is a +4 level metamagic, triple empower is +6. Incantrix can apply the deduction once to each metamagicked spell. I don't think the class ability reduces the cost of creating a magic item, just the spell slot used to cast spells.

Neither Mage Armor nor True strike has no variable effect to enhance.

You can't make the infinite wish ring unless you were 500th level at which point you would be a god and just kill anything you wish including other gods at will.

Well, actually, if you could use Scrolls or Rings of Wish (It would take a lot) or have a buddy summon a Solar each day (Wish 1/Day) then you wouldn't have cast Wish yourself. You don't have to cast the spell yourself, as long as something casts it to aid in the item creation.

Ring of Infinite Wishes, 306000+2500,000 (cost to create, 153,000 base +500,000 xp or someone else casting it) and 153 stress-free days.

Not that hard if you really put your mind to it.

Summoned and/or Gated creatures NEVER cast any spell that cost XP. This is listed in the PHB or DMG, go look if you don't beleive it to be true...

True, but for a Solar, a wish is a spell-like ability and I don't think they have any components, but I'm not sure.

Tata.

But you don't have to actually cast the spell to create the item.
On the other hand the summoned creature would have to be present for the full 8hrs a day of the creation process.

Empower only works on random numerical variables. So option one doesn't work.

Also, note, the incantrix refers to preperation. It would be difficult to persuade a DM to actually lower the metamagic "cost" of creating the item.

Number Two option

A) you have to be a massive level to create that

Or

Have 153 scrolls of wish

Or

Summon a Solar/Noble Djinni who is willing to serve you. AS no spell aside from planar ally/planar binding is good enough (I think?) to get the 8 hours a day you are going to have to come up with a good reason for the Solar/Djinni not to shaft you at day 152 or just not waste 153 days of it's time helping you.

So how a about a ring of continous true strike then +20 to hit isn't bad from one item. Or is there a rule I'm overlooking?

Yeah, I think you missed the "dm fiat" part of the magic item rules :)
