Not a big fan of dinosaurs in D&D (like them on real life, as everybody hehe), I'm waiting for that animals!

Why not call the dinosaurs by their names? Is that a stylistic choice?

Well, the scientific names of the animals appear in parentheses next to their fantasy names. For example:

Knifetooth Raptor (Velociraptor) Level 3 Skirmisher
Small natural beast (reptile) XP 150

I did it this way to stay congruent with 4E naming conventions and to allow folks who want to use the real names the option to do so.

These are the kinds of supplements I find most useful.

My guess is that this was being worked on and finished before Adventurer's Vault, since the rhinoceros and triceratops both appear in that book (EDIT: as do giant lizards, and elephants (not sure about the latter; my book isn't handy)). It must be frustrating to try to guess what WotC will or won't present in their releases. Don't get me wrong; I'll still buy these.

You are correct, sir. Most of these two supplements were written befoe Adventurer's Vault. However, it's only 4 monsters out of 52, so it's just a little overlap. Plus, my elephant, rhino, triceratops, and giant lizard are better than WotC's. :p

I'm inclined to believe you. Can you divulge any future such releases? I'm very interested in collections of "utility" monsters like the ones in these supplements.

Oh... No Tanystropheus :(

I'm looking forward to the dinosaur book - it'll be useful for my Eberron game. Will any be mounts (like the velociraptor)?
