Goodman Games embracing 4e!

I picked up Sellswords of Punjar and Dragora's Dungeon this week. Harley Stroh is the man. It's very nice to finally hear his voice in this new edition.

I'm very excited about this. Goodman will be getting my money.

I had always a blast with Goodman's Adventures .. so this news is a big YEAH!

But there are two things that dissapoint me a bit:

-) All adventures so far are for 1st Level so after you played on your group will outleveled the other ones.

-) The included Battle-Maps/Cardbord Cut-outs are nearly useless if you buy the pdf.

But this is only nitpicking if the Adventures rock like the 3.x ones!

If? Try checking out the links provided. Most (I didnt check all) says 4e (GSL), so seems pretty certain that they are.

It's 4e compatible, not GSL. For example, instead of using words like Soldier for monsters and stuff, they use Sld. Or Lrk for Lurker. M1, Dragora's Dungeon, is published under the OGL, with OGL license attached and everything.

The ones I've seen are very good. I'm just not sure if I'm comfortable with the Master Dungeon concept where 1st level characters save the world and prevent major catastrophes. Or maybe that's the new 4e paradigm. I don't know.

I've never bought any 3pp stuff before. My interest is piqued though. If we're fishing for previews, more details on the 6 adventure pack would be helpful, I'm particularly interested in the "Fey Maze" adventure..

Are there any other 3PPs that have put out a product calendar with this much 4e stuff?

Well, EN publishing is currently working on a 4E version of the 12-part War of the Burning Sky campaign saga, along with the Campaign Guide and Player's Guide. That's 14 products... although we haven't officially announced anything yet.

It took three sessions.

I think this may be about the same for me, if not two. We did the first of two "levels" in one session.

This, to me at least, is a huge selling point for these mods. KotS, while enjoyable, took a bit too long to run for my group (6 sessions altogether?). I'll get to run two of these DCCs (probly doing Isle of the Sea Drake after Sellswords) to cover the party from 1st-4th level. Its nice to have the feeling of accomplishment in less than 2 months of sessions :)

I'n not sure, but aren't the ones in October 4th level and up? I think it is just the initial Gen Con blast that were low level. Although I'm going to run Isle for my 4th level PCs. Adjusting monsters on the fly should be pretty easy.

I think it is just the Master Dungeons paradigm. (Sellswords had none of the "save the world" theme, and in fact was pretty street and gritty.) My suspicion is that Master D. is Goodman high fantasy line, while the DCCs will continue to be the low fantasy line.
