This I could get behind if it has more 1eisms than 3eisms. 3e at its core is a good game, but the power creep ruined it for me.

Ditto. I'm wondering just how 1E it will be. C&C is already pretty much 1E with the d20 combat mechanic in it.

EDIT:

I'd love to see an open playtest on this like Pathfinder. :D

Not for me. I'm not a fan of the siege mechanic.

I'm kind of a non-fan as well- The whole prime/non prime thing sounds great in theory, but makes attribute scores/bonuses kind of meaningless. A person with 18 strength non prime, has a lower effective modifier than somebody with a 10 strength prime. And on the opposite side- if you have a high score and prime- you get an overly huge effective bonus.

Cool game overall- and I've run it succesfully, but the Siege mechanic is kind of wonky- it works great for the monsters, but ...

Back on topic- Totally looking forward to Goodman's new game- and I'd agree a simplified D20 rules engine with a big coat of "old school" paint (philosophy) would be right up my alley.

Wonder if the dice mechanics will be d20 + modifiers vs. target number, or something else like 3d6 + mods vs. target number.

1st Edition D&D throwback with some D&D 3.5e influences

Wonder what are the 3.5e influences. I know C&C is 1st Ed + Siege Engine, so this DCC RPG is 1st Ed + ???

Perhaps the ascending AC thats worthy to be adapted.
