Guilty Admissions...

I'm called The Infernal Teddy, and...

* I love Pathfinder, but think it needs a good setting. Golarion isn't.

* I've only recently started actually writing up a dungeon - never used one in 20 years of role playing

* Never understood what people like about AD&D 1st

* I wish I knew why I was so in love with Rifts ten years back

* I hate Deadlands, but love Savage Worlds

* I used to love elves and hated Orcs. Then it was the other way round. And now... love em both.

EDIT:

* I cheat half the time when I roll as GM, because no one would believe my bad rolls otherwise, they'd all think I was making things too easy for them...

My name is jaerdaph, and...

  • I've never seen an episode of Babylon 5 or any Stargate series, yet was addicted to Ryan's Hope and All My Children for years
  • love all Star Trek, even Voyager
  • love Star Wars yet have never played any Star Wars RPG
  • hates when people feel the need to say IANAL ("I am not a lawyer") in their sig files. I mean, I am not a proctologist, but I don't put that in my sig! Not to mention, what it really says is "I still live in my parents' basement in between pizza deliveries". B-)

My name is Animus and I...

...am an Eberron fanboy.

...wish that my current group had half the interest in Eberron that I do. It would actually encourage me to DM in Eberron because they would "treat it right."

...speaking of my current group, I like it but miss my old group from the time I lived in Michigan.

...didn't like gnomes until I finally read of their awesome in Eberron.

...wish I could get a chance to play more, especially FATE-based games.

...am woefully ignorant of many of the comics, novels and movies that appeal to gamers.

...feel silly sometimes doing voices and accents. I guess that's why I almost never do them and I suck at them.

...like the fact that Forgotten Realms were reset for 4E.

Hi, my name is Empirate, and I...

* love to play, but almost never get the chance to. Meh, I like DMing way better anyways.

* read the LotR. About 50 times. Low estimate, that. Don't ask what my teen years were like.

* stumbled over RPGs when I was 12 years old, and didn't get it. Took another stumble at age 16 to get me hooked.

* hate almost every fantasy novel ever written. Mostly because they're badly written versions of badly thought out stories that rely on bad techniques and tropes to bring no point at all across in too much of a goody-two-shoes manner. There are exceptions, though. Joe Abercrombie is amazingly evil, and George R. R. Martin is only slightly less of a BBEG despite the cheesy 'middle name'. Oh, and both know how to write. Not like Really Abominable Salvatore.

* played Shadowrun as my first RPG, of all things.

* never seem to kill a PC in my campaigns. Soft spot the size of a mountain. Really.

* secretly hope I never have to kill a PC in my campaigns...

* use the same password for everything. But you'll never find out what it is, not a chance! MWUAHAHAHAaaa...aha... ehm... yeah.

My name is Kris and....

...whenever someone tells me about an awesome PC they once played, or game they played in, I always smile and nod politely - but what I'm really doing is recalling the Arnold Rimmer 'Risk' story (from red dwarf).

I'm known as stonegod and

- I loved the Dragonlance books, but hate the modules they were based on.
- Hated Eberron when first hearing about it, loved it the moment I picked it up
- Have far too many character concepts than I could ever play
- Wishes Wik would stop posting silly stuff and come back to LEB. :)

I am

I am rkwoodard and I

1) based my name off my own name cause I couldn't think of anything better that day.

2) On my first visits here (back in 2001) was shocked that people supported and favored older editions over 3.0. I wanted to make them see the error of their ways

3) Wish I could find an older edition game (or new clone game) to play now, as that is what I favor.

4) barely consider myself a gamer at all anymore. I play maybe 3 times a year.

5) Feel guilty I have not yet became a paying subscriber yet.

Thank You,

I'm Wiseblood and I

.. Used to like it when FR or DL would give nod toward D&D rules (now I just cringe)

.. Have been trying to develop my perfect Fantasy RPG... For aeons and still do not have anything solid to show for it.
(not even a crappy one)

.. Liked the art in older editions.

.. Love fighters in every edition.

.. Hate teiflings (and skinny halflings)

.. Hated gnomes until one became a beloved NPC for me and the players.

.. Considered excluding gnomes from that same campaign.

.. Included them BECAUSE I hated them.
(There are things I hate in this world. Including the fantastic-hated made the world come alive.)

.. Love randome tables

.. love looting

.. hate anything protected by plot

I'm tvknight415 and I....

- have been gaming for almost 30 years
- generally stick to the same half-dozen character concepts whenever I have to create a new character
- base most of my characters on historical types (viking berserker, templar knight, etc.)
- will occasionally create a character that is "just wrong" just to annoy everyone else (one of the worst being a gay wookie jedi named Cudlay)
- will quote Python and the Princess Bride, both at and away from the gaming table
- love DMing Ravenloft, but hate playing in it
- hate DMing Greyhawk, but love playing it
- credit D&D (despite all the naysayers in the 80's and 90's) with keeping me Christian
- don't see what's so special about Dark Sun
- really wish Gen Con would get it's butt back to Wisconsin where it belongs
- think the Tomb of Horrors just wasn't deadly enough
- fudge dice rolls as a DM because I hate killing PC's just because they can't roll above a 7 to save their life
- use gaming books as my bathroom reading
- have about half of the PC's I've ever played been paladins
- prefer lower level adventures
- have played D&D across a 3-car caravan driving through Iowa with walkie-talkies
- hate overly optimized characters, and will target overly optimized characters' weaknesses without mercy
- have been to a bachelor party where we really did just sit around a hotel room playing D&D all night (and there were no naked women in the adventure, either)
- think 4E really isn't D&D
- wish my wife would play D&D
- have bought a set of poly dice in colors to match my current PC's heraldry
- think gnomes should be banned (seriously - erase them from D&D)
- try to avoid alcohol at the gaming table
- cannot stand to play at the gaming table with someone who reeks of cigarette (or other) smoke (pipe tobacco smokers are an exception to this rule)
- hate game sessions where we play for four hours and get through three rounds of combat

But, probably the most shocking guilty admission of mine is that, even after eight trips (3 as a player, 5 as a DM) to the Keep on the Borderlands, I still think that, "bree-yark" means "we surrender!"

I'm WanderingMonster and I

  • used to gear my AD&D with artifacts and claim "my other DM" let me have it (I was 12)
  • colored in the pictures in my AD&D Monster Manual...and put nipples on all the boobies.
  • hate it when players make silly names for their characters
  • like gnomes
  • hate gritty realism
  • would rather have a character with a signature move than a suite of useful powers
  • am not good at making effective characters
  • get bored easily and like to move on to new games or characters to shake things up
  • overuse parentheses (apropos of nothing, but it's true)
