GURPS 4th Edition Online Game Thread

Not necessarily since the Hashshashin were a sect of of a sect of Shia while my dwarf is Sunni from Al-Wazif. I actually just saw, in Banestorm, there is a term for Sunni Paladins, Kharijite.

-----

On an unrelated note, I'm not a fan of taking so many disadvantages but I think I'll be at a disadvantage if I don't so I removed the link to my character sheet until I can beef it up a bit.

No worries....my bad on the error.

As for the character....also not a problem.....I prefer a 50 point disadvantage limit myself but 5 of those are from quirks and don't have to be spent during creation.

I see what has happened.

Friar....I have confused your character with Insights.
And on an unrelated note....NO, they would probably NOT be friends.....an assassin and a paladin would NEVER be friends...even if they shared the same faith.
Sorry.

It has also dawned upon me that if the players are not careful...they will have the party consist of such wildly varying religions/points-of-view to the extent that they might be a bigger threat to each other than to the monsters of the desert!
Apparently though....only the paladin is approaching the module from the viewpoint of volunteering.
Everyone else has to do it because its better than being instantly beheaded for whatever crime they are accused of doing, whether actually culpable or not.
(Did they really short sheet a wizard's bed or leave an ugly hooker for a faithful follower of islam or cause undue commotion...who knows....not my place to judge!)
So keep this in mind Mr. Paladin....you are in the company of a party comprised entirely of "convicted criminals" and may be a bigger danger to the majority of the group than the undead.
(I hope you are a light sleeper)

As you may have gathered from the last post I confused one players character for another and may have spilled the beans on his design.
For this I can only appologize.
You have all put a lot of work into your characters and I might have inadvertantly ruined that to some extent.
So Let me be clear that if you are familiar with the Pharoah module.......(I-1)...then you essentially begin as "condemned"....except for the paladin who has a "choice" to be condemned OR a volunteer.

My reasoning is this.....if the paladin were brought before a court to prove is innocence as a devout follower of islam...he would have "lost his powers" just for the unveiled hooker alone....still being able to perform a divine miracle after being accused of a godless act would have been concrete proof of his innocence.
So for this line of reasoning I am predisposed to believe that the paladin has in fact "volunteered" instead of being "accused"...HOWEVER....if friar comes up with a good reason why he can stand guilty and still remain a paladin with divine ability....I am open to the suggestion.

Everyone else would be caught for whatever crime.

The monk just for being a foreigner that no one would ever miss...easy to accuse without upsetting anyone.

The assassin (if that is still your build concept....SO sorry on that dude, really I am!)....was probably caught for this instead of a murder which he SHOULD have been caught for but since the sentence is the same splitting hairs becomes a moot point.

So I have listed so far (but I am probably still wrong):

1) Dwarven paladin (Hashim)(PC)
2) Assassin (Qaled)(PC)
3) Monk (Swan)(NPC)

and a possible scout character.

Lets proceed with a 300 point limit with 50 points in disadvantages maximum...you may have more than 50 points in disadvantages but after 50 it no longer figures into the build allowance.
You may keep up to 5 quirk points unspent for cinematic feat activations.
I will be lurking.

Count me in as an Elven archer/mage ... reworking the build a bit to fit 300 points (with 50pts in disads and 5 unspent quirk points).

Given the scenario, likely another foreigner thrown to the wolves :)

That would be correct, sir!
So far I would say a well rounded party.
Now for the last npc.....if another does not join I mean.
Hmmm.....I am thinking maybe a Megalan, a captured crusader or something similar.
Or perhaps an "Alladin" like thief, a dungeon parkour......yeah, it's cliche, but when in Rome....or Persia as it were.

I am just doing some last minute juggling to fit everything in the build to get a few style perks for Shaolin Kung Fu but I believe the unfortunate Miss Swan is ready to be posted.
She only has nominal Esoteric Medicine levels so try not to get hit too much.
I will do that tomorrow.

When asked by the Sultan's men; "What did the miscreants look like?"
The reply came; "I tell yu, I tell yu evryting.....he, uhhhhhh...hheeee....he looka like a man?"
She was arrested shortly there after.

(Just kidding...but couldn't resist!)

For SpiritMarked....if you really want to put 1 arrow through 2 targets...consider "armor-piercing" arrow modifier for signifigant blowthrough...then add a level or two.
Hope you are a hell of a snooker player!
Sorry, was a thought after the fact....didn't think to pm it.
I will be lurking.
