D&D 5E Halfling Barbarians-Finally a edition that lets the monster out of it's cage.

They fell behind power wise because they had smaller weapons.

Now, that's not an issue.

Not to mention (in 3.x) strength penalties, grapple/push/overrun penalties, carrying capacity penalties, and most of your peers at the table finding you "adorable" instead of "deadly". ;)

And if you were hairy enough, people would mistake you for the team pet or the wizard's familiar.

If you like Halfling Barbarians you should play the video game Age of Wonders 3 with the Golden Realms Expansion.

As a Halfling Warlord you get Halfling Bezerkers units and the Halfling Manticore Rider units which looks like a Barbarian riding a Manticore Rider.

Which is not the weirdest possible Halfling Units, there are halfling succubi, which weirdly don't have to be evil, Halfling Assassins, Halfling Warbreeds (half halfling half orges with regrowth), Halfling Exalted (looks like Halfling Angels kind of like Favoured Souls), Halfling Cruasaders, Halfling Jesters with fireworks, Halfling Enigeers and Halfling Musketmen, and in the next expansion Halfling Deathbringers which are a special Ghoul/Vampire undead. For fans of Athas/Darksun, Druid Halfling leaders can produce Halfling Shamans and Halfling Hunters.

Not techniquely 5e related, but with Halfling Barbarian love in I just thought I'd point it out.

I want to see some of these guys posted with stats. :)

I'm game.

Elwyn is a member of an exclusive order of Sages (e.g. The Scribes of Candlekeep) but in truth is quite young and one of their most recent members. He is a voracious reader, ecstatic to see the most trivial new text if it's new to him and contains some small but of lore. He has been turned out of his order of sages because his adventurous heart caused quite a stir of trouble for his brethren, who were only too happy to get rid of him after his most recent mishap ruined twelve ancient scrolls in an attempt to uncover a hidden treasure map. He has a copy of this map with him, and intends to see its discovery through.

He claims to have read some of the world's rarest tomes, quoting many from memory, but because of his youth and inexperience, his "omniscient" attitude has gotten him a comeuppance more than once. He is completely self-taught as a warrior, having read dozens of training manuals and treatises on combat, and long-dead adventurer's journals filled with derring-do and fancy, succeeding partly on luck and partly on an innate talent for quick physics calculations.

If he were to advance, i'd probably go Battlemaster, flavoring his abilities as physical observations, re-enacting training diagrams in manuals from memory, etc. he'd be a good candidate for feats such as keen mind, ritual caster, possibly magic initiate, but that might take him away from his core theme.

Level 1 Barbarian (Frenzy path)

Str 15 9
Dex 14 5
Con 15 9
Int 8 0
Wis 12 4
Cha 8 0

Urchin or Criminal Background

I'll probably use a Versatile Weapon. Battle Axe or Longsword.

Pretty simple build. Just play him like Tommy in Goodfellas or Nicky in Casino.
