D&D 4E Has the 4E Announcement Changed Your Buying Plans?

Ahahahaha! WOTC, no spell compendium, rules compendium, or magic item compendium purchase from me. I've got about $90 in barnes and noble gift certificates that I was literally going to use last weekend. So much for that idea. 3rd party d20 modern books and possibly SW Saga here I come.

I'm so happy I don't have to play catch up with all of the Complete and Races of series etc.

I was upset when after 3.5 was released they went the 2nd edition route and started saturating the market, which they promised they wouldn't do when 3rd edition was initially released. I mean, looking at the derivative dribble coming out later this year, it wasn't going to be too long before they released Complete Gnome Cook Handbook or what have you.

Yes -- except for a couple of specific adventure products, I'm going on buying hiatus until I learn enough about 4E to decide if I want to switch or not.

My RPG budget is sliding into my Video Game / DDM budget. That'll get me a few more purchases this year in those categories.

I think I'll still get Expedition to Greyhawk Castle at some point.

I thought about picking up Libris Mortis and the aberration book at some point + Complete Champion, to have a complete "Complete" collection, but I guess I'll skip those. There weren't on high priority anyhow, probably wouldn't have bought them anyhow.

I would have bought the Pathfinder setting books Paizo will come out next spring, but not sure I now will. Depends on how much 3.5 there will be in them.

I don't really have a plan on what to spend and when. If there is an interesting product, I'd buy it.

So, my plans have changed, because I definitely plan on buying 4th edition next year. But in the meanwhile, I have no idea...

I went and canceled my preorder of dragons of eberron, though if the rumor that they will provide 4e support for recent products I may get it after review.

I'm very disappointed I bought complete champion now. I also hope that MMV will have 4e support of some kind. pretty recent book.

I'm going to be selling stuff on ebay soon!

It defintely has for me - I picked up three Sword & Sorcery hardcovers on the weekend (Bard's Gate, Dead Man's Chest and Relics & Rituals: Excalibur).

Money I was planning on spending on upcoming WotC product and filling out my existing Complete Series books will now go to 3rd party publishers, particularly those who announce that they will continue to publish 3.5 material after WotC goes 4E.

I'll probably buy the Tome of Artifacts this weekend.
