Hate for new look for Green Dragon

I like the horns along the jaw but not the nose so much.
That's my position, too. The green was the weakest of the chromatic dragon designs, and it took me a while to do a green dragon I liked for Fiery Dragon's Counter Collections.

I'd take this WAR green dragon, reduce the nose horn to a stub and give back its frill down the neck.

I rather like the Draconomicon green dragon. I could see where some people wouldn't, but the art I'm seeing of the 4E green looks... goofy.

It would probaly be fine, maybe even better than the 3E version, if they just got rid of the stupid nose tumor.

Wow. How hard to you have to be looking for things to hate about 4E to start a new thread about the appearance of a specific monster in one illustration?

It's not about 4E hate at all. I am completely ambivalent about 4E as a whole at the moment, but I hated that damn dragon the moment I saw it.

Because it wouldn't match what we know in real life about six-limbed, flying, breath-weapon-expelling, spellcasting, talking creatures?

QFT

IMCs the color, size and general appearance of a dragon has little to do with its age or power level. Remember, St. George essentially slew a scaley, winged Great Dane. ;)

Since alignments seem to be less important in 4e, maybe they finally got rid of the color/metal dragon idiocy and decided to just have ONE kind of dragon, but with endless variety in the form of dragon talents and special abilities that makes every dragon unique and interesting. It would keep players guessing and make it a good idea to spend some time investigating lore about each dragon before wandering blindly into its lair. It's not likely but I can dream...

Well, heck, some of them could look like Care Bears. But from what we know of living creatures, six-limbed or no, they should resemble each other.

I'm sorry but in my opinion the new covers rock because... they are interesting. The 3e covers were cool..... EIGHT FRICKING YEARS AGO. I like covers that evoke the adventures in the game and I also hope and pray for softcovers to come back to help combat the rising costs of rpgs. I hate that one of my favourite hobbies is becoming too expensive for me to purchase product for anymore. All I buy are minis and dungeon tiles. I occasionally buy a new module but anything over 25 bucks is something I need to really think about and go over first unless it is a new core book.
